Persistent High Blood Pressure is caused by High Lead in Blood – Study
Most people take blood pressure medications without knowing the reason why they have high blood pressure. And although blood pressure is treated as a disease by doctors, the reality is that it usually has an underlying cause. High blood pressure is the body’s way of compensating for an ongoing problem. It is a sign that something is not right somewhere in the body. And there are reasons why blood pressure goes up.
Recent studies have confirmed that one of the causes of chronic high blood pressure is high levels of lead in the blood. Researchers from the University of Michigan found a direct correlation between high lead levels in the body and ‘treatment-resistant high blood pressure. Treatment-resistant high blood pressure is when patients take more than 3 different classes of blood pressure meds to lower their blood pressure, and still have problems maintaining healthy blood pressure.
Another recent study published in the British lancet found that Lead kills over 400,000 people in the United States alone, many of them from cardiovascular diseases.
At MedB clinic we have observed from the diagnostic scans we perform, the harmful effects of lead on the entire body, especially the cardiovascular system. Most people we see in the clinic on long-term blood pressure medications have higher than usual lead exposure.
Lead triggers inflammation of the arteries which promotes the build-up of plaque deposits in the arteries. And plaque deposits in arteries leads to narrowing of the arteries (atherosclerosis) which in turn causes high blood pressure and heart disease.
Although two people can be exposed to the same environmental pollution, they may have different blood levels of lead because of the difference in their body’s detoxification system – the system that removes toxins from the body.
There are steps you can take to reduce your exposure to lead and improve your body’s detoxification system. Old buildings may have lead paint and lead pipes, and so it is essential that old homes are properly inspected to remove any source of lead contamination. Care should also be taken to avoid some household items that may contain lead such as ceramics, glass, batteries and even toys and cosmetics. People already suffering high blood lead will need a proper cellular detox agent to help them eliminate Lead from their system. An effective detox agent for removing lead from the arteries and heart and the entire body is Pectasol (Modified Citrus Pectin).
